Christmas Time Love.

One of my good friends Lelan, and his lovely lady, wanted to get pictures done for Christmas cards. We ventured out to a new area for me, and I was very happy with the results. It was a beautiful day out in Red Rock, we were lucky to get some lovely cloud coverage even. Lelan and Robbin were great sports with trekking around, and dealing with the ridiculous amount of people who were also getting pictures taken. We were able to get some pretty awesome shots. While it isnt a white Christmas around these parts, they are a pretty cute Christmas couple. Enjoy.

Love Made For The Movies.

Along with my adventures in Cali last week, I was able to get up to Burbank to see my favorite cousin Jen and her boy Jason. They just celebrated four years together and Jen has been dying to do pictures together for quite some time. And hey, when you've got the best cousin ever who is a photographer, you can't not take cute pictures. Courtney and I drove through on our way home, and got these lovely shots. We had quite a bit of fun between all of our hangovers, my inability to remember that the park wasn't named Johnny Cash park, and just our general tomfoolery any time Jen and I get together. It's shoots like this that make me fall more in love with shooting, and reassure me that I made the right choice to make photography my career. Jen and Jason, thank you for letting me capture your silliness, and for being such a great couple to restore my faith in relationships and true love. You two are my favorite part of Burbank, and I can't wait to take more pictures of you in the future. I'm so happy that you are my cousin Jen, and Jason I am so happy that you take such good care of my favorite cousin. Enjoy.

Glowing From More Than The Sun.

I had the wonderful opportunity to spend my Thanksgiving week with my friend Courtney and her entire family in Dana Point. They rent a house every year, right on the beach, and spend the whole week eating, drinking, laughing, fishing, and just being around each other. Her sister Nichole is pregnant for the first time this holiday season, and between everyones work schedules we havent had a chance to take any maternity pictures, but we were able to find some time while we were on vacation to get some prime shots on the beach. Im so excited to do more, and for little baby Knox to arrive in March. Jeff was even trying to be sympathetic with his beer belly, and Nichole gave him some sweet sweet tummy rubbing for the effort. Enjoy.

Just Drop A Pin.

It has been in the works for quite a while, to get my entire family together to do portraits. For those of you that dont know, I have a vast array of extracurricular activities that take place within my family. My mother runs her own business, Enchanted Desert Quilter. My oldest brother and his wife run their own business, WallQuotes.com. My brother Graham, in addition to driving semi-trucks, is working on the second book of his trilogy series. You can purchase his e-Book version on Amazon, Rebel Heart by Graham Bradley, while Schaara works from home and is a full time mom to Grayson. My youngest brother Ian is a firefighter/paramedic for a local station in our neighborhood, and is wife runs her own business for wedding decorations, you can check out her Facebook page by searching for The Wooden Trunk. While all of us are running around doing all of that, Raelene is also due in 2015 with the second granddaughter, and their third child, of the family. Graham and Schaara are just three months shy of celebrating Grayson's second birthday. And Ian and Jill are weeks away from little Olives' third birthday. It is crazy to see my family grow from year to year with all the things we are doing, together and on our own. I am so happy that we were finally able to get together to do these photos. It took a little bit of effort, including learning how to drop pins on my iPhone in the middle of a huge park so that everyone was able to find their way, and many days of group conversations about tuxedo tees and superman underwear as wardrobes, but we were able to pull everything together. Its possible I am biased, but we do clean up quite nicely. Enjoy.

Before They Were Even Coloring In The Lines.

Kyle and Teddi were finally able to do their engagement shoot since the weather has decided to stop melting faces off. We have been talking for a few months about what they wanted to do, and we decided to trek out to Nelson to do their shoot. I must say, it is great to see people so young, so in love. They had the usually starting moment during a shoot of not knowing what to do with their hands, but they shook it off and we were able to get these beautiful shots. But out of all of them, my favorite is the last one. Teddi sent me a photo of the two of them in kindergarden with something along the lines of the lovely construction paper masterpieces like you see on them now, and wanted to recreate the shot. You see, these kids have known each other since they were tiny kids. But even now, the both of them had no problem recreating their cheesy grins from that original photo. Im so happy we got to do these, and I cant wait to shoot their wedding. Enjoy.

Put Your Boots On, We Are Getting Hitched.

Sometimes you dont really realize how small the town you live in is, until you get older. While I am a thorough grown Henderson gal, it comes with the territory that you often run into people from Boulder City. Now if you know one person from Boulder City, you can bet that you will run into most all the people from Boulder City. A small town where everyone knows everyone, but its the best kind of town when your business runs on word of mouth. This is where it gets fun! My best friend Tenaya's, co-workers, brother needed a photographer for their wedding before they moved away for his career in the military. Austins now sister-in-law let me know they needed a photographer and I was lucky enough to get the gig. Austin and Carly looked so happy all evening, and I was happy to capture their moments for them. Carly was dolled up in her wedding gown and cowboy boots, and Austin was dappered up in his tuxedo. There were sunflowers, endless laughter, loving family, and crazy friends cracking jokes all night. I wish them both the best as they brave the humidity of Georgia for Austins job, and thank them for the chance to stop time for their wedding night. Congrats! Enjoy.
