In The Final Stretch.

The school year is coming to a close, and senior portraits are in high demand. Between signing day for Salt Lake City Bruins for college, her final season of softball for high school, and turning 18, Kayla and I were able to set up her shoot for one of her last free weekend. She is heading into the final months of her senior year, and with her schedule getting busier by the week, we had a small window to get them done. It was a fun filled day. We started out with two spots in the morning before Kayla had to take a break to go do some community service, then we met back up in the afternoon for a hair change and one more location. We ended up chasing peacocks around, laughing while Kayla tried to control her rapid fire blinking, and hanging out in some less than ideal back alleys in the Arts District. All in all, it was worth it because we were able to get some really cute shots. Enjoy.

And Then There Were Three.

To say that Knox made a grand entrance this morning at 5:54 am, weighing in at 7 lbs 9 oz and 19" long, would be an understatement. Nichole was in labor for 36 hours before he finally decided he was ready to meet everyone. Although, he was well worth the wait. Everyone is absolutely smitten. I stopped by the hospital when I got off work today because Nichole wanted to get the hospital bracelets in some of his newborn pictures, and the hospital is right across the street from my work. Little Knox Ryan is the sweetest. Barely fussing while I was in his face during precious sleep time, he was the perfect model. I cant wait to watch and photograph Knox growing up, and capture Nichole and Jeff being the incredible parents I already see that they are. Dont worry, there are more pictures to come. Until then. Enjoy.

Winter Wonderland.

Last August my best friend Tenaya sent me a screen shot of a post on Facebook that someone we both went to school with was looking for a photographer for her wedding. I messaged Kellie to say that I was interested in having her book me, and after quick briefing on what she was looking for, she booked me for the gig. Kellie gave me a quick story on what she needed. She sent me a video from the Wounded Warrior Project of her fiance and his best friend Keith to fill me in on what their back story was, and what I would need to know before the wedding. You can watch this clip here. Even before I saw this I was so excited to shoot the wedding for them, and after I saw it I couldnt even put into words how happy I was to be of help. Kellie and Chris got married at Chena Hot Springs Resort in Alaska. From the moment they picked me up from the airport it was a trip I knew that I would never forget. Immediately I felt like part of the crew, cracking jokes and crying from laughter like I had been apart of the group all along. Alaska was so incredibly gorgeous, I was stoked to be given the opportunity to photograph their wedding and to tag along for all the activities we did in the days leading up to it. Chris is such an amazing person who so clearly loves Kellie and Karlie more than anyone could ever hope to be loved. Chris, Kellie, and Karlie crack jokes back and forth all day, always laughing and making great memories together. The family was great, loving, and truly so wonderful to be around. Kellie and Chris, thank you for this amazing opportunity to let me photograph your wedding. I had so much fun, and I am very happy that I was able to be the photographer to capture these moments for you. I am lucky to have had this opportunity and this will be a trip that I will remember for many years to come. There will be more to come, but until then. Enjoy.

What Does The Fox Say.

Nichole and Jeff are currently on call for Knox to make his grand entrance. It has been quite the adventure waiting for him. Family members keep having dreams that he is going to come early, but luckily he got the memo that I wasnt going to allow him to be born without shooting Nicholes maternity pictures. He even listened to his dads requirements that he wait until March to be born so that they would share a birthday month. Although things have been CRAZY busy in my life, everything worked out perfectly (besides the stupid wind that decided to kick up on the day of our shoot). Courtney, Nichole, and Jeff were all troopers while we traveled around town to get these shots. We started out at Floyd Lamb Park, Jeff even got a duck to take a selfie with him once the duck found out hes an Oregon Ducks fan, then we went to the World Market Center for the beautiful K for Knox, and finally trekked out to Nelson for some rustic shots. Nichole and Jeff, thank you for letting me capture these moments for you. I think this shoot was the most fun I have had shooting in a while. Jeff, your boob grabs and incredible ability to make any pose look awkward made this shoot so much fun and reminded me why I love shooting people who are able to crack a joke or two after even the longest days of shooting. Nichole, thank you for letting me take your maternity pictures. I am so lucky to have had the chance to shoot whatever I wanted, and you were always down for what I threw out. You guys make me love photography and remind me why I want to make a career out of capturing these precious, hilarious, and sometimes inappropriate moments. I cant wait to meet little baby Knox and take pictures of him for you as well. Waiting on the edge of my seat. Enjoy.
